EU Funding : Horizon Programme
Horizon 2020 is the European Union’s main funding instrument for research and innovation. Over a period of seven years, around € 80 billion are available for researchers in universities, companies and other institutions. The goal is to ensure Europe produces world-class science, removes barriers to innovation and makes it easier for the public and private sectors to work together in delivering innovation.
UEG aims at making access to these programmes easier through information updates, reference documents and network creation, as well as UEG Week sessions.
The EU has launched research initiatives related to COVID-19 within the Horizon 2020 Programme:
- The European Commission has launched a European COVID-19 Data Platform.
- Deadlines for H2020 grant applications & result deliveries are extended.
- Several research infrastructures (RIs) have set up specific services, such as rapid or fast track access, to allow researchers to obtain results as soon as possible.
- 17 H2020 research projects were selected in February to tackle COVID-19.
- Horizon 2020 Calls on COVID-19, deadline June 11: Read the briefing.
UEG Research switchboard on COVID-19
We foster new connections through collaborative content
The COVID-19 pandemic is revolutionizing the landscape of worldwide medical care and research. In that context, most scientists and clinicians involved in digestive diseases are changing their daily routine. Moreover, digestive diseases are influenced, directly or indirectly by the infection, and most professionals are focussing now on COVID-19.
In this situation, it is essential to gather European researchers in digestive health, and to establish new ways of transnational collaboration.
Aim of the UEG Research switchboard:
- Researchers can register and advertise their studies to recruit centres and participants.
- All interested scientists/physicians can get in touch with the PI and get involved in the study.
How to participate
If you are looking for partners to collaborate, please give us details on your study and your contact by completing the UEG Research switchboard form.
The study and contact details will be available on this page so that colleagues can get in touch with you. The database will be updated weekly.
