UEG Week and Postgraduate Teaching (PGT) are the premier venues for researchers from across the globe to present their latest findings. UEG Week combines world-class scientific research and invited lectures by leading minds in gastroenterology. Multidisciplinary is a key focus of UEG, which is why UEG Week and PGT cover topics of interest for the entire GI community (the myUEG Community). With our hybrid congress, we are ecstatic to provide you with the best of both worlds via our in-person (Copenhagen) and virtual formats.

Individual registration

For online registration, please register each participant individually! In case you would like to register several participants and you need a collective invoice, please use the group registration (for more info see next section).

UEG recognises the vital role of allied health professionals (AHPs) and we offer a highly reduced registration fee.

AHPs can attend the full UEG Week programme for € 250 in-person or for € 150 virtually. Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) include the fields of professions: Nurses, nutritionists, dieticians, psychologists, psychotherapists, educationalists, statisticians, pharmacologists, microbiologists. This fee is only applicable for professionals without any medical degree!

(1) Trainee

The trainee fee is only applicable for master and PhD students as well as for residents in training. A certificate from the supervisor or head of department must be forwarded together with the registration. Registrants need to be max. 40 years of age at the time of the congress.

Eligible for residents of countries with Human Development Index (HDI) < 0.8 based on the countries ranking from the Human Development Reports for 2021-2022.

(3) Undergraduate student

The undergraduate student fee is only applicable for medical students at university/college level who have not finished any medical degree yet. A certificate confirming the undergraduate student status at the time of the congress signed by the dean of the university/college is required.

(4) Allied Health Professionals

The allied health professional fee is only applicable for professionals without any medical degree. A confirmation from the head of department is required. Allied Health Professionals include nutritionist, dieticians, psychologists, psychotherapists, physiotherapists, geneticists, educationalists, statisticians, pharmacists, microbiologists, epidemiologist and nurses. Distributors are not included.


General information

To be eligible to register for UEG Week, registrants must be at least 18 years old. Registrants may be asked to provide an official identity card stating their age.

Registration is only allowed for certified healthcare professionals, associated press, industry representatives and other stakeholders in the science, management and prevention of gastroenterological disease (“Eligible Registrant”). By registering, you confirm that you are an “Eligible Registrant” and accept that non-healthcare professionals, including children, will not be able to access the congress venue nor platform.

Included services as listed above and access to certain industry areas on the virtual congress platform or within the congress venue might be restricted due to regulations for advertising of pharmaceutical products to non-healthcare-professionals or non-prescribers.

After complete retirement from all clinical and professional activities, doctors are entitled to a reduction on registration fees.

Official agency for AIFA submissions

According to Italian legislation, any Marketing Authorisation Holder or pharmaceutical company responsible for the commercialisation of a drug, which organises or helps to organise, whether by direct or indirect funding in Italy or abroad, a congress, or a meeting on topics in any way related to the use of medicines, shall notify the competent Unit of the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) at least 60 days before the date of the event to ensure that these adhere to strict technical criteria and aim to provide further knowledge in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceutical technology, biochemistry, physiology, pathology and clinical medicine.

How to get to the venue

The access to UEG Week 2023 is via Entrance 4 at the Bella Center. 
The venue is comfortably located and easily accessible by public transportation. Therefore, we advise our visitors to think of the environment and take advantage of the public transport whenever possible.  

By train/metro from the airport 

If you take regional train or metro from Copenhagen Airport it will take you 20-30 minutes to Bella Center Copenhagen. The metro station “Bella Center” is located only a few minutes walk from the venue.  

By public transportation from the city center  

The Metro line M1 runs between Vanløse and Vestamager and brings you from the city center to the congress venue in 10 minutes. Further information on www.m.dk

Copenhagen offers great public transportation infrastructure and the city is kindly supporting our UEG Week delegates with a Travel Pass at a special discounted price during the congress days. Here is the main information.

Helpful information

Letter of invitation

The (Mondial Congress & Events) will be pleased to send a formal invitation letter to everybody that is requesting one and has already registered and paid for UEG Week. It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential delegates to raise funds or to obtain a visa. This does not imply a commitment from UEG to provide any financial support. Invitation letters can be requested in the online registration process. The letters will be sent as email attachment. If an express delivery is required, the delegate shall order a courier at his/her own expense.

Visa

The entry formalities for Denmark vary according to the country of origin. For citizens from the European Economic Area (EU including Norway, Island) a valid identity card is sufficient. Visitors from other European Union member countries require a valid passport. Find out more about the countries which need and don´t need a Schengen Visa to travel to the EU. 

Please address enquiries about entry and vaccination requirements to your travel agent or to the local consulate.

Important: In some countries case-processing time for (Schengen) visa applications takes long. Please make sure to apply for a visa well ahead of time. 

COVID-19 measures

In order to avoid the spread of COVID-19 and to guarantee a safe congress for all participants and faculty, UEG strictly complies with Denmark’s official legislation which you find here: Rules and regulations. Furthermore, UEG will ensure sufficient safety and hygiene at the venue.

The official language of UEG Week is English.

Payment method 
Payment will only be accepted in Euro and via credit card or bank transfer (for group bookings only).

Time zone
The time zone in Copenhagen is Central European Time (CEST), which is Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) +1 hour in winter and +2 hours in summer. This as well is the time zone in accordance to which UEG Week will be live broadcasted on the virtual congress platform.

Climate
In October the average temperatures range from 7° to 13°C during the day in Copenhagen.

Electricity
The voltage in Denmark is 220 Volts, 50 Hertz. Sockets meet European regulations and use the two-round pin system.

Childcare

Childcare will be offered for up to 12 kids from 3 to 12 years old for a onetime fee of 20€. 

Due to compliance rules minors are not allowed in congress areas, session halls and exhibition areas. Therefore, the childcare room is located outside of the congress area with a separate entrance but located next to the main entrance of the congress. 

The childcare team speaks English. Water and juices will be provided in the kindergarten, but kids have to be picked up for lunch. Children can stay in childcare for max. 4h, multiple times a day, but need to be checked on by parents every 4 hours.

Pre-registration is required, but registration on-site is possible if there are still free spots (first come, first served).

The voucher (€ 20, one-time payment) can be bought at the registration counter (Registration Service Desk) and needs to be shown when entering the kindergarten.

Eco-friendly congress information

At UEG Week, we are dedicated to taking positive strides to keep our congress eco-friendly. To achieve this, we have the following initiatives in place.

  • Reducing the overall amount of printed material in terms of flyers, promo items and detailed programmes
  • Reducing the use of plastic in terms of catering and packaging
  • Working with suppliers who are “green” oriented 
  • Encouraging delegates to bring reusable water bottles and offering easily accessible onsite refill stations
  • Encouraging delegates to travel by train and public transportation
  • Choosing venues which are easily accessible by public transportation
  • Choosing venues that consciously make major efforts in sustainability
  • Reducing single-use giveaways and food waste
  • Using recycled materials for congress bags, pocket programmes and lanyards
  • Arranging drop-offs for lanyards to recycle them
  • Advising our industry to keep the environment in mind when preparing their booths or ordering their sponsored items 
  • Working to develop a “Greener gastroenterology” position paper within our National Societies Committee
