Educational events
UEG offers endorsement for high-quality educational events that meet the following criteria:
- Face-to-face or hybrid events
- In the field of gastroenterology or related disciplines (e.g. gastrointestinal surgery, nutrition, etc.)
- Multidisciplinary or monothematic events
- Events taking place anywhere in the world
- Min. duration: 6 hours of scientific programme (excl. breaks)
- Min. number of expected participants: 20 for hands-on or basic science courses, 50 for other events
- Are in line with UEG’s Equality & Diversity Plan
- Are submitted for national or international CME accreditation (except for basic science programmes)
- Events in English
Exception: The annual event/congress of a UEG National Member Society that is being held in the local language can also be submitted. The application must be provided in English and all remaining criteria must be met.

- Prepare CV(s) of the programme director(s)
(max. 1 A4 page incl. 4-5 publications and educational experience only related to the topic) - Prepare the detailed event programme (incl. times, session titles and invited faculty)
- Download and complete the faculty list
- If applicable, collect endorsement letter(s) from UEG Member Society(ies)
- Complete the online application form and upload all documents
Applications can be submitted year-round, but at the latest 3 months before the start date of the event. Applications will be reviewed by members of the UEG Education Committee who aim at providing the applicant with feedback within 4 weeks after the application has been submitted. No fees apply for UEG endorsement of educational events.

Guidelines
UEG supports the development of high-quality clinical guidelines and provides endorsement to initiatives that meet the below criteria:
- The request for endorsement must be submitted to UEG at the outset/early stages of the project (in any case before the Delphi process has started).
- The guideline must be in English.
- The guideline has a European/International applicability.
- The guideline initiative is endorsed by at least one UEG Specialist Member Society.
- A current UEG Quality of Care Committee Member is actively involved in the guideline development process, based on his/her scientific expertise. This representative can be suggested by the applicant or nominated by UEG.
- The development of the guideline must not be funded by industry.
- The guideline development process follows recommended standards and practices, in particular the UEG Online Course "How to develop guidelines".
- The guideline development group must involve relevant scientific societies and experts and have appropriate gender balance.
- The finished guideline must be sent to the UEG Quality of Care Committee before submitting it for publication to make a final decision whether UEG endorsement is still legitimate.
