The surgical voice in UEGÂ
The consortium ESSAT provides a framework for cooperation and coordination among the four surgical Specialist Member Societies of UEG. ESSAT organises workshops at UEG Week on topics at the intersection of surgeons and gastroenterologists for the benefit of digestive and visceral diseases patients.
Mission statement
- To promote networking of knowledge and sharing clinical skills among the European community and beyond in Digestive and Visceral surgery.
- To support educational programmes including surgical and endoscopy hands-on and technical skills courses for Digestive and Visceral surgery.
- To support and coordinate the development of evidence including guidelines that can promote best practice in Digestive and visceral surgery.
- To support gastroenterologists in a multidisciplinary approach to GI diseases.
