The Local Organising Committee is pleased to announce they have succeeded in setting new dates for the FNM 2020 meeting; April 14-17, 2021. This will mean that the enormous amount of planning will still benefit the Neurogastroenterology community. The meeting will continue to be referred to as “FNM 2020”. Adelaide, South Australia will remain as the destination, with the Adelaide Convention Centre as the meeting venue. We are very pleased that our down-payments for the conference centre have been transferred, in full, to the new dates.
Registrations which have already been received will remain valid for the rescheduled meeting. The program of FNM2020 will remain substantially unchanged, but speakers will be invited to update their presentations. Over the next 12 months we intend to develop an online version of the meeting, which will provide an exceptional conference experience for anyone who cannot travel to Adelaide due to International border restrictions imposed due to COVID-19.
The Latin American Association for the Study of the Liver (ALEH), was founded in São Paulo in 1968, under the leadership of Prof. Silvano Raia. Its first meeting was held in São Paulo in 1968, with the participation of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Venezuela. Although these countries remain engaged in the organisation of the society, member countries have grown and now include several from South and Central America.
Started in 1983 and held every year in June, this meeting has become established as one of the largest European Workshops in its field, gathering around 400-500 participants coming from 55 to 60 different countries worldwide.
In 2020, it is the first time since its creation that GEEW could not be held due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We will miss this annual opportunity to exchange with our audience and Faculties.
38th GEEW is therefore postponed to June 20-22, 2021 and we will make sure it will be stronger and even more attractive. The meeting is designed for endoscopists and gastroenterologists but also for physicians in training as well as for nurses and GI assistants. It will include live video demonstrations permitting interchanges between faculty and registrants during procedures, using our interactive App, lectures and quizzes. The audio-visual transmission to the Brussels Exhibition Centre on Monday and Tuesday will be broadcast live from 4 endoscopic suites located at Erasme Hospital and each procedure will be performed by international expert physicians selected for their outstanding teaching capabilities in collaboration with members of the local staff.
The overall goal of this course is to provide information about current technology and to enhance knowledge in gastroenterology and endotherapy. Moreover, new techniques and new accessories will be demonstrated and discussed with the audience. In controversial cases, a consensus will be sought by means of the GEEW App.

Dear Colleagues,
Let me invite you to the ECCO'21 Congress - which has now been decided to feature an exceptional summer-time congress experience in Copenhagen, July 7-10, 2021 in order to minimise any risk related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the beginning of the new decade, 2021 will be a crucial year to look into "IBD precise".
With its steadily increasing number of participants, the ECCO Congress has become the leading world congress for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and we look forward to welcoming you to a highly diverse programme with a major focus on precision medicine for IBD.
Among the highlights of the 2021 Scientific Programme are topics like direct comparison and combination of drugs. In 2021, we should be able to determine the role of artificial intelligence in IBD, to choose the safest therapeutic option in an era of multiple medications and to tailor therapeutic strategies to patients' profile such as age.
Top specialists will also provide new insights on the real burden of IBD, the optimal managment of disease complications, the best way to monitor our patients and the ultimate therapeutic goals.
There will be a Basic Science Session dedicated to "The microbiome as game changer in IBD?" that will discuss implementation of recent findings into practice.
Having multiple tandem talks, and several sessions that involve all the different ECCO Committees with live discussions during the presentation of clinical cases will guarantee direct interaction with the audience.
As every year, alongside the Scientific Programme, we have planned various educational activities before the start of the Congress, such as the 12th N-ECCO School and also the first edition of the brand new 1st Postgraduate Course, the 6th D-ECCO Workshop directed at clinical trialists, and the 15th N-ECCO Network Meeting as well as S-ECCO and H-ECCO Masterclasses.
Do not wait and check out the new ECCO 2021 Congress website and register on time to secure your seat for our educational activities!
Looking forward to welcome you to the world's biggest Congress for IBD - the ECCO Congress - in summer-time Copenhagen.
Yours sincerely,
Laurent Peyrin-Biroulet

Since mid-March, we have been living in a different reality, unknown to us so far, created by the COVID-19 epidemic. This reality is characterized by a tendency to avoid direct interpersonal contacts, both professional and social. Scientific and educational congresses are the essence of such contacts, and any attempts to restrain them would reduce the global effect of such ventures. The date of the PTG-E Congress, for which I and my team are responsible, was scheduled for September 24-26, 2020.
We have been closely following the processes of "defrosting" particular spheres of life and plans for the organization of other large medical events envisaged for autumn this year They are usually canceled or limited by software and converted into webinars. I am afraid that you would not like this form of Congress, apart from the technical issues of ensuring uninterrupted transmission of video and audio from 4 conference rooms with the possibility of active participation of participants in discussions.
After consultations with the Management Board of PTG-E and Termedia, which is responsible for congress logistics, we came to the conclusion that the only right solution would be to postpone the date of the Congress to the next year, more precisely to 16-18 September 2021.
