Accessibility Statement

Introduction 

This accessibility statement applies to the website www.ueg.eu, operated by United European Gastroenterology (UEG). UEG is committed to ensure that its website and services comply with the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz) as amended implementing the European accessibility act (EAA). For this purpose, UEG is committed to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 and WCAG22) Level AA and the EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) harmonised European standard.  

This statement is regularly reviewed as UEG tests, reviews and improves its services. 
 

Service overview and how to use our service  

For more information about UEG please refer to the section About. UEG organises 'UEG Week', our 4-day annual congress, bringing together digestive health experts from around the world to share the latest multidisciplinary research and advancements. Members of UEG can purchase tickets for UEG Week through our website as follows: 

  1. User logs into their myUEG Account (mandatory). 
  2. Once logged in, users begin registration by clicking the Register now link. 
  3. UEG verifies the user’s profile and address details for invoicing purposes in the background.
  4. Users are then redirected to the Mondial Congress & Events (3rd-party supplier) registration system, where ticket selection, payment, and invoicing are completed. 
     

Compliance status 

As of November 2025, UEG’s website and service are to the extent possible already partially compliant with the EEA, the WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines and EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) harmonised European standard. UEG is aware of the following limitations:  

  • The contrast ratio of text and images of text does not meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 and 3:1 for large-scale text and images of large-scale text; 
  • Users cannot extend or turn off time limits; 
  • Users cannot skip links provided to jump to main content;  
  • Name and role for all user interface components cannot be programmatically determined; states, properties and values that can be set by the user cannot be programmatically set. 
  • Dynamic content updates are not announced to assistive technologies;  
  • Video and Audio content do not have captions and/or transcripts; 
  • Apps do not meet EN 301 549 mobile accessibility criteria. 
  • VoiceOver and TalkBack navigation do not work properly. 

This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out in October 2025 by a senior project manager responsible for the development process and highly familiar with the website’s accessibility features. An Accessibility Conformance Report is available upon request. 

UEG is fully committed to making the website and services accessible to the widest extent possible. The website is constantly being improved and UEG is committed to revise and update the website to implement such requirements which are currently not being met in the course of 2026, at the latest until June 28, 2030.
