Dr Jessica Biesiekierski, RNutr, is a Nutrition Scientist and Lecturer of Dietetics and Human Nutrition at La Trobe University, Australia, with a research speciality in gastrointestinal physiology in health and disease. Jessica completed her PhD in non-coeliac gluten sensitivity and her post-doctoral research exploring gastric nutrient sensing. She has past experience working as a clinical nutritionist in private practice and in the food industry. Jessica’s most notable achievements include being awarded the Rome Foundation’s Ken Heaton Award for the Most Cited Paper on Functional Gastrointestinal and Motility Disorders twice (2015 and 2013), the 2011 Nutrition Society of Australia Early Career Award and the 2009 Australian Gastroenterology Douglas Piper Clinical Young Investigator Award. Dr Christen Rune Stensvold is a Senior Scientist and Public Health Microbiologist with specialty in parasitology. He has a Bachelor degree in Medical Sciences, an MSc in Parasitology, and a PhD in Health Sciences. He has been based at Statens Serum Institut, Copenhagen, since 2004. Since 2006, he has authored/co-authored more than 80 articles in international, peer-reviewed scientific journals. In 2013, he was awarded the Fritz Kauffmann Prize for his contribution to clinical microbiology in Denmark.
