Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the European Congress of Radiology 2026 (ECR 2026), held under the inspiring theme ”Rays of Knowledge.” This theme beautifully captures the essence of ECR: a celebration of education at the heart of radiology. It alludes both to the “rays” of radiological imaging and the continuous “rays” of wisdom that illuminate our profession.
Our official congress poster features Athena, the Greek Goddess of knowledge, wisdom, and learning — a powerful symbol of Europe’s deep-rooted tradition in the pursuit of truth and scientific discovery. Another fitting symbol is the owl, emblematic of vision and insight, reflecting the radiologist’s ability to reveal what lies hidden to the ordinary eye. Just as the owl sees clearly through darkness, we in radiology detect what others cannot, sharpening the focus on diagnosis and patient care.
ECR 2026 will offer radiologists, radiographers, physicists, and physicians from all specialties the chance to expand and sharpen their expertise, earn valuable CME credits, and connect with colleagues from around the world. Reflecting current educational trends, ECR 2026 will also be available on-demand via ESR Connect, ensuring that learning is accessible and flexible for all.

The 112th General Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology will be held over three days, from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 18, 2026, across two cities at venues adjacent to Fukui Station and Kanazawa Station. The Japanese Society of Gastroenterology was founded in 1898, and its first general meeting was held the following year. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of many pioneers, it has since developed into the nation's premier and largest academic conference in the field. It is a great honor for me to serve as the president of this prestigious 112th General Meeting. This will be the first time that the University of Fukui, with its relatively young medical school, hosts the meeting. Furthermore, within the Hokuriku Branch, this marks only the second time the event will be held since my mentor, Professor Shuichi Kaneko of Kanazawa University, presided over the 105th General Meeting in 2019. My colleagues and I are fully committed to preparing for this significant occasion with a deep sense of responsibility.
The main theme of this General Meeting is "Exploring Next-Generation Gastroenterology." Gastroenterology in Japan has made remarkable advancements across all fields, including the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, liver, and biliary-pancreatic diseases. Compared to when I began my medical career 37 years ago, the progress is nothing short of extraordinary. Moreover, with the rapid changes brought about by the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution, I feel that the field of gastroenterology as a whole is now at a critical stage of accelerated evolution. Against this backdrop, I hope this meeting will serve as an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the present and look toward the future, while building upon the vast experience and knowledge accumulated by our predecessors throughout history.
At this General Meeting, in addition to special lectures, we will feature a special program titled "Cutting-Edge Gastroenterology Research on Current Trends." This session will highlight some of Japan’s latest internationally acclaimed research that has garnered significant attention from our members. For the main sessions, we have planned a total of 50 thematic sessions covering all aspects of gastroenterology, including 16 symposiums, 21 panel discussions, and 13 workshops. Additionally, 10 guideline sessions currently undergoing revisions for 2026 will be incorporated into the panel discussions. The international session will focus on “Inflammation / Carcinogenesis” and will be held in collaboration with the Asian Pacific Topic Conference and the JSGE-UEG Session. I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the officers, council members, and program committee members of JSGE for their invaluable support in organizing this meeting.
Furthermore, to enhance the convenience for both on-site participants and the overall conference operation, we have adopted a hybrid format that combines live simultaneous streaming with in-person sessions at two venues connected by the Hokuriku Shinkansen (bullet train). Attendees will even be able to view the sessions while traveling on the Shinkansen. Along the route between the two stations, Komatsu Airport, Kaga Onsen Station, and Awara Onsen Station (hot spring towns) are also accessible. Additionally, both on-site and online participants will have access to on-demand streaming. We sincerely hope that many of you will join us and that all participants will have a meaningful and enriching three-day experience.

Pan American Crohn's and Colitis Organization (PANCCO)
It originated from an idea in 2011 due to the particular interest of gastroenterologists from various Latin American countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela as well as Canada in order to join efforts for the academic and scientific consolidation of the area of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Latin American countries.
After several meetings of the Steering Committee made up of members from the aforementioned countries at events such as Digestive Disease Week, the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation and United European Gastroenterology Week, the Organization was finally legally established on April 22, 2014 in Mexico City under the leadership and enthusiasm of the President-Elect Dr. Jesús Kazuo Yamamoto Furusho and the Founding Steering Committee of PANCCO.

But now an even more comprehensive paradigm shift is emerging, which will change not only clinical practice, but also the way we think about health, illness and the human being as a whole.
Distinguished Researchers in Gastroenterology,
On behalf of the Korean Society of Gastroenterology (KSG), it is with immense pleasure and excitement that I extend a warm invitation to the Seoul International Digestive Disease Symposium (SIDDS) 2026, scheduled to take place from April 18 to 19, 2026, at Grand Walkerhill Seoul, in the dynamic city of Seoul, Korea.
SIDDS 2026 is an international academic conference dedicated to advancing multidisciplinary research, spanning both basic and clinical sciences in the field of digestive diseases, and committed to imparting cutting-edge knowledge to the younger generation.
This year's two-day program, themed "Navigating toward optimal digestive care: beyond linguistic barriers" is meticulously constructed to illuminate the path toward personalized and optimized patient care, serving as a lighthouse for the future of the field. We have curated diverse sessions focusing on crucial advancements, including the utility of population-based big data analysis, the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in developing standardized clinical pathways for specific diseases, and the integration of digital healthcare based on real-time data. These timely topics will be followed by lively multidisciplinary expert panel discussions designed to foster collaborative breakthroughs.
Notably, this year's symposium will feature a distinguished lecture by Dr. Lawrence Kim, the President of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), as well as educational sessions provided by the United European Gastroenterology (UEG) Educational Committee, and dedicated educational programs for nurses. We are also proud to showcase collaborative programs with various domestic and international groups.
To facilitate deeper scientific insight and seamless discussion among participants, we have established an AI-based real-time translation system. This platform will promote synergy among researchers in digestive science across areas including disease prevention, prognostic prediction, and precision medicine. We anticipate this event will be an invaluable opportunity to demonstrate the excellence of Korean Gastroenterology and the innovation of K-Technology on the global stage.
To encourage academic exchange and collaboration, especially among young researchers from the Asia-Pacific region and around the world, SIDDS 2026 offers comprehensive support, including Travel Grants and a variety of other awards and support programs for diverse abstract presentations.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming you to SIDDS 2026 in Seoul, where you can not only present your invaluable research findings but also experience the vibrant K-Culture of the city, and join us in charting a brighter future for the continually evolving field of gastroenterology.
Thank you.

Dear Friends, and dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the the European Pancreatic Club/ EPC it is a great honor for me to welcome you to the wonderful and breathtaking city of Istanbul for the joint EPC/AP Meeting 2026. In Istanbul not only Europe gets united with Asia but Istanbul also welcomes the entire World. For that reason it is just the perfect city to held a joint meeting with the International Association of Pancreatology/IAP to unify Europe and the rest of the World for our beloved pancreas. It is not only important to meet all together, but also to built a platform where we all can collaborate and actively work in a joint manner for our patients with pancreatic diseases. In this dimension, it is not only important to unify the knowledge of pancreatologists from all over the world but also to do this in a multidisciplinary fashion.
In these times, there is no single pancreatic disease, which can be perfectly treated by one medical discipline only. It is the specialised team which matters and gives our patients the best therapy they need. Neither a single good gastroenterologist, an oncologist, an interventional radiologist, a radiation oncologist or a surgeon can stand alone in the complex modern treatment tracks we have established for pancreatic diseases nowadays. In this context, we should also not forget the importance of our specialized nurses who are taking care for our patients. Therefore our joint meeting 2026 will highlight and once more underline why multidisciplinary approach is the only key to success in pancreatology.
Pancreatology can only develop through joint academic research, multinational networking, successful publishing and establishing of evidence based medicine guidelines and therapy strategies. In this matter we also need strongly our colleagues from basic science who help us to develop and understand the pathogenesis of the diseases we are dealing with. We should not forget that basic science is crucial to master the pathophysiology, the course and also novel therapeutic approaches in pancreatic diseases. For that reasons basic science will play a major role at the EPC/IAP joint meeting in Istanbul 2026.
For that reason my friends and colleagues, let us all from all over the world meet in İstanbul 2026 to gather our knowledge, academic efforts and our fight against pancreatic diseases for the benefit of our patients.
See you in June 2026 in Istanbul, in the city where the world meets!!!

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Together with our member society, the Swedish Psychiatric Association, the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) is delighted to invite you to the 26th WPA World Congress of Psychiatry, taking place in the stunning city of Stockholm, Sweden, from 23–26 September 2026.
Our theme for this congress – “Guided by Compassion, Grounded in Science: Psychiatry for Our Time” – speaks to the heart of modern psychiatric practice. In a world marked by rapid change, complex crises, and evolving expectations of care, psychiatry must be both scientifically robust and deeply human. This Congress will explore how we, as mental health professionals, can respond with empathy, uphold ethical standards, and innovate responsibly to meet the needs of our time.
Set against the backdrop of Stockholm’s forward-thinking spirit and natural beauty, WCP 2026 will offer a powerful platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and inspiration. The WPA 2023–2026 Action Plan will continue to guide our efforts as we advance critical priorities in research, prevention, education, and global cooperation.
Our scientific programme will once again feature the popular Specialist Corner, where leading experts will engage in focused discussions on key topics including psychotic disorders, affective disorders, trauma, substance use, neurodevelopmental conditions, and digital mental health.
The promotion of healthy lifestyles remains central to our agenda, with a continued emphasis on physical activity, sleep, nutrition, and holistic well-being. Our focus on young people will be especially strong, as we address the mental health challenges faced by adolescents in an increasingly digital and demanding world.
Our research initiatives will expand, examining the real-world impact of lifestyle interventions and pursuing international collaborations on pressing concerns like suicide prevention and emergency mental health response.
Importantly, collaboration remains at the core of our mission. Through the WPA’s Advisory Committee on Response to Emergencies (ACRE) and partnerships with psychiatric associations and mental health stakeholders around the globe, we will continue working toward a healthier, more resilient future.
We invite you to join us in Stockholm for what promises to be a transformative experience – one where science meets compassion, ideas spark action, and lasting connections are made.
We look forward to welcoming you in September 2026!

On the occasion of the Japan Digestive Disease Society of 2026 (JDDW 2026)
The 34th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology (JDDW 2026) will be held at the Kobe Convention Center during the three-day period from Thursday, November 5 to Saturday, November 7, 2026. JDDW 2026 will host the 68th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology, the 112th Congress of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, the 30th General Meeting of the Japan Society of Hepatology, the 24th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterological Surgery, and the 64th General Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastrointestinal Cancer Screening. The first JDDW was held in 1993 and has become one of the largest scientific meetings in Japan, with 24,300 participants in 2024. By bringing together physicians, researchers, and medical staff from various specialties in the field of gastroenterology, JDDW has been disseminating the latest knowledge and medical technologies across a wide range of fields, not only within specialized areas but also across other disciplines.
At JDDW 2026, the "Integrated Program", one of the programs planned by the societies in cooperation, will cover topics such as gastrointestinal cancer associated with hereditary diseases, gastroenterological care for the elderly, the evolution and pros and cons of minimally invasive treatments, the utilization of big data, alcohol and gastrointestinal diseases, and the current status and future of regenerative medicine.
Additionally, the "Medical Seminar" will discuss "Hospital Management and Medical Strategies in the Era of Cost Pressure". Furthermore, the "Female Doctors and Researchers Program" will address "The Future Image of Healthcare Professionals Considering Diversity & Inclusion", and the "Medical Staff Program" will cover "Medical Safety in the Gastroenterology" and "Considering Career Plans for Medical Staff". Moreover, the "International Session" and "Strategic International Session", which emphasize collaboration with Asian and Western countries, will be planned by each society, inviting many speakers from overseas.
This JDDW is also characterized by having three presidents from the surgical field. In many gastrointestinal diseases, collaboration between internal medicine and surgery, as well as with radiology, pathology, rehabilitation, and other departments, or multidisciplinary collaboration, is crucial. We hope to make JDDW even more fulfilling by bringing together various healthcare professionals, and we look forward to your participation in JDDW 2026.
