This polyp has finger-like projections. Tubulovillous adenomas have a cerebrate of gyrate-like pattern. Even if the true morphology is not obvious on observation, it will become obvious if you try to take a biopsy sample of the lesion. The forceps will seem to disappear into the soft surface. Alternatively, submerging the polyp as seen in the right-hand image, will prove the diagnosis.
As seen is in the middle image, dye spraying is often disappointing when applied to these lesions as the thick coverage of mucus prevents the dye from outlining the villi.
