UEG Week and Postgraduate Teaching (PGT) are the premier venues for researchers from across the globe to present their latest findings. UEG Week combines world-class scientific research and invited lectures by leading minds in gastroenterology. At UEG Week and PGT, we prioritise multidisciplinary topics that cater to the entire GI community - the UEG Community. With our hybrid congress, we are glad to provide you with the best of both worlds via our in-person (Barcelona) and virtual formats.

Eco-friendly congress information

At UEG Week, we are dedicated to taking positive strides to keep our congress eco-friendly. To achieve this, we have the following initiatives in place:

  • Reducing the overall amount of printed material in terms of flyers, promo items and detailed programmes
  • Reducing the use of plastic in terms of catering and packaging
  • Working with suppliers who are “green” oriented
  • Offering easily accessible onsite refill water stations
  • Choosing venues which are easily accessible by public transportation
  • Choosing venues that consciously make major efforts in sustainability
  • Serving an entirely vegetarian menu at our networking event, The UEG Night
  • Reducing single-use giveaways and food waste
  • Using recycled materials for pocket programmes, leaflets, giveaways and lanyards
  • Arranging drop-offs for lanyards to recycle them
  • Advising our industry to keep the environment in mind when preparing their booths or ordering their sponsored items
  • Learn more about the UEG Community’s commitment to offsetting our ecological impact in the UEG Green Paper

How can you contribute to a greener meeting?

  • Bring your own water bottle and refill at the water stations
  • Choose sustainable means of transportation
  • Dispose of your waste (PET, paper, metal, etc.) via the separate collection systems provided at the event venue
  • Recycle your lanyard by dropping it off at the designated box
