Joseph Meredith is a paediatric gastroenterologistin the Department of Paediatric Gastroenterology, The Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh, UK. He is currently a research fellow with the Child Life and Health division of The University of Edinburgh. He completed his paediatric gastroenterology fellowship training at The Children’s Hospital Westmead, Sydney, Australia, and has particular interest in paediatric IBD and the epidemiology of gut diseases in children.
Richard K Russell is a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist and professor of paediatric gastroenterology and nutrition in the Department of Paediatric Gastroenterology, The Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh, UK. He is actively involved in clinical paediatric IBD research, with a particular interest in dietary treatment of Crohn’s disease. His PhD studies focused on the genetic determinants of paediatric IBD. He is the former chair of both Paediatric ECCO and the UK paediatric IBD group, and was appointed chair of the ESPGHAN “Porto” IBD group in 2020. He is a founding member of the paediatric IBD network (PIBD-net).
Konstantinos Gerasimidis is a professor of clinical nutrition at the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing, College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Glasgow, UK. He has a long-standing interest in nutrition, graduating in nutrition and dietetics, completing postgraduate studies in clinical nutrition, and exploring how the gut microbiota and nutritional status of children with Crohn’s disease are impacted by exclusive enteral nutrition during his doctoral research. He is an honorary clinical paediatric nutrition scientist with the NHS at Greater Glasgow and Clyde. His main research interests are disease-associated malnutrition and diet and gut microbiota interaction in health and disease.
